Two warriors face each other in an arena. Their countries are at war and the war will be ended by this competition. The champion of each country facing off, one on one, with the fate of the war to be decided. Thank you for that very interesting piece of history. I don't know if it is all true or not, but I can imagine that humiliating an enemy after defeating them was not uncommon. Whether this was done by rape or by some other form of non sexual humiliation, I don't know. Sexual humiliation is very powerful and immediate, but may create the type of hatred for the rapist that years after the defeat, motivates the enemy to rise again to avenge not just the loss, but the humilation that was delivered after the battle was lost.
